About Me

Dr. Reynoso is an associate professor of psychology at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York. He completed his Master’s degree in psychology at the City College of the City University of New York. In 2004, he completed a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Administration at New York University. His dissertation, “Academic achievement among Dominican English language learners at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York,” investigated factors that promoted academic achievement. During his tenure at Bronx Community College, he has served as Director of Counseling and professor of psychology in the department of Social Sciences. Dr. Reynoso has extensive knowledge of Latino studies, research and teaching. He has experience in developing curriculum and has infused Latino culture in his courses.
Dr. Reynoso developed and taught a psychology course entitled, “Latino/a Psychology” at the City College of the City University of New York. As a founding member of the Dominican Studies Institute at the City College of New York, he conducted research on the Dominican Diaspora. In 2006-2007, Dr. Reynoso and colleague Dr. Sharon Utakis received a grant to collect oral histories of Dominican immigrants focusing on their educational and labor histories. As part of the grant, Dr. Reynoso attended the Columbia University Summer Institute in Oral History in June 2006. He has published numerous articles on Dominican immigration and the resiliency of Dominicans and has presented his research findings at numerous conferences both locally and internationally. He was recently elected to public office as a Trustee on the Board of Education in Bergenfield, New Jersey.
