About Me

Welcome! My name is Leah Goldman. Always a lover of animals, I began riding and caring for horses at age six and have continued that throughout my whole life. At age 27 I brought home my first dog Boots, who became the inspiration behind Fika and Friends. My background is in Clinical Mental Health and School Guidance Counseling where I primarily worked with middle and high school students. I transitioned into coaching because I love helping people who are in an action phase of their life; who are ready and motivated to make positive changes for themselves.

I have always been drawn towards helping others and after working in various settings I knew I eventually wanted to start a business on my own. The idea of Fika and Friends was born after realizing the therapeutic benefits I received from my own animals. Their companionship, loyalty, and love has helped me through several difficult times in my life including losing jobs, losing loved ones, heartbreak, and generally feeling like I wasn’t sure what I was meant to be doing in life. Additionally, both dogs and horses have taught me the value of responsibility, care, structure, and routine.

For me and many others animals can provide a sense of calm, comfort, or safety and divert attention away from a stressful situation and toward one that provides joy and happiness.

My intention is to offer those who are struggling with guidance and support while integrating animals to provide additional comfort and foster skills depending on the individuals goals.
