About Me
I love working with people who have experiences of not quite fitting the standard mold (in a variety of ways!) and finding paths for them to experience fulfilling connection, effective support, and developing paths to achieve their goals that are tailored specifically to them.
I'm particularly interested in relationships of all kinds - friendships, relationships to ourselves, our relationship to our work, our relationship to our space, in addition to romantic or intimate relationships.
I'm also interested in the role that our own presence and growth has in our ability to create and hold intentional spaces - again, for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for our communities.
I'm happy to work with individuals or sets of people in personal relationship with one another who want to explore coaching together - whether that's couples, friends, polycules, or some other arrangement.
I intentionally don't scope my practice to a single type of concern - I think that work, relationships, personal fulfillment, leadership, and a variety of other topics tend to be interconnected and blended, and I'd rather have space to build a coaching relationship that encompasses whatever's important to you right now - and that has plenty of space for the messy, blurry spaces between the common coaching areas - than to specialize in just one focus area.
Some of my clients have a specific goal in mind - wanting to save their marriage, grow their business, carve out more time for themselves, learn to more confidently make new friends - and some of them want a long-term thought partner to provide insight, perspective, and reflection in an ongoing practice of self-exploration and growth.
My clients think deeply, are committed to paths that work for *them* instead of paths that work for most people, and want the flexibility to tailor the coaching engagement to something that works for their lifestyle and brain.
I look forward to talking with you. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Karen has been such a huge help to us. As a hetero/cis couple, other coaches and therapists kept trying to put us in a box and make us conform to cookie cutter patriarchal norms. It wasn't working. Karen's experience with queer, poly, and neurodiverse folks in relationships helped her meet us where we were. She helped us to find what worked for US, whatever that looked like, without judging or pushback. She was supportive and also held us accountable. I can't count the times I was glad she stopped us to clarify what was just said or checked back in on something we had said we were going to do. After nearly 15 years of marriage, our partnership is back from the brink and stronger than ever.

I really enjoyed Karen's approach to coaching. She has a structured approach to each session that lets me talk about whatever I need to and keeps me focused enough to make plans for things I can actually do and change. Her questions are the definition of incisive: "intelligently analytical and clear-thinking." Sometimes just being asked the question showed me where the problem in my thinking was! But I appreciated that she also made sure I came up with practical steps to work on between coaching sessions, to which she would also hold me accountable. If you really want to make progress in an area where you feel stuck, I highly recommend Karen's coaching!

I hadn't done any coaching before working with Karen, so I wasn't sure quite what to expect. I've seen a number of therapists, but coaching really does fill a different niche. Karen is somebody who is perceptive enough and able/willing to ask challenging questions, while also holding space for her clients to be themselves. During our sessions together, I found that I was discovering areas I was overlooking and things I hadn't considered, which, among other things, unblocked me from addressing some really difficult medical challenges in more constructive ways. The work we did was very valuable to me and highly impactful in my life, and I'm really glad that we had the opportunity to work together. I'd recommend Karen to anybody who's looking for a coach who is willing to look for what they're missing and help them to better understand their own options.
