About Me
Are you working in a job that’s draining your energy? Maybe you have no work/life balance. Maybe you’ve experienced burnout. Maybe you’ve been pressured by family to take a certain path that doesn’t match your strengths. Maybe you’ve decided to pivot after getting divorced.
These situations all point to the same question: how do I find the best career path for me?
I work with professionals ready to build or change their career on purpose. When we have been making decisions because of what we think we’re supposed to do, we’re forgetting to consult the only person whose opinion actually matters: our own.
If you’re struggling to clarify your career path, you need to first set up a strong foundation of confidence, motivation, and consistent habits. I will work with you to get clear on what you’re actually good at and naturally driven to do. We look at what thought patterns are draining your confidence so that you can take courageous action forward toward a fulfilling career.
Over a period of four years, I worked with my own coach to let go of the perfectionism, people-pleasing, and flimsy boundaries that were killing my confidence and keeping me from leading my own life. With a certificate in coaching and a degree in psychology, I’m here to help fellow working professionals bet on themselves and choose a career with confidence.

VerifiedI came to coaching struggling at work with my confidence, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism. I was not speaking up in meetings even though I knew this was a key to progressing in my career. Working with Kara was not like a generic prescription of actions to take to solve my problems, but rather a deeper dive into what was beneath my confidence issues. I found personal, self-generated solutions for how to begin releasing my perfectionism and imposter syndrome. Now, I catch myself in my default thinking, which allows me to be chill even in unexpected meetings at work. I'm even stepping up and demonstrating tangibly the leadership at work that will help me progress to the next level in my career.

Before I started working with Kara, I was struggling at my job and feeling pretty down. My boss was tough, I was stressed out all the time, and I seriously considered quitting. But Kara helped me see things differently. I discovered my strengths and learned not to downplay them. Plus, I realized that it's okay to struggle sometimes I'm not alone in that. In our sessions together, I got a chance to focus on every step of the application process. Now, I have a great resume and cover letter, and am prepared to answer interview questions authentically. In short, I know what I need in a job, and I'm ready to go after it. Funny enough, I haven't left my job turns out, I didn't need to. But I know I have the skills and confidence to move on if I want to.

I loved working with Kara! I found her on Noomii and worked with her for a few months. As a twenty something facing lots of (what feel like) big life decisions, Kara offered gentle support in navigating the day-to-day struggles as well as the bigger picture uncertainty. Through our sessions, I was able to recognize and begin to change patterns and habits that I had been holding on to from previous times in my life. Although Im still not sure what I want to do with my life, I feel significantly more confident, calm and prepared going through the inevitable ups and downs. Shes personable, relatable and kind while remaining professional and focused. Highly recommend!

At the beginning of coaching, I wasnt accepting all the parts of myself. I was in people pleasing, doing everything that everyone wanted, and not setting boundaries. In the 6 months that I worked with Kara, I learned that knowing myself was the basis for having self-love and self-respect. I learned how to stop my negative thinking patterns, which has allowed me to connect with my passion to inspire others. Now I decide whether I take others opinions of me: what matters are only my thoughts about myself. I have become strong in the knowledge that I know my potentialI know I can achieve the things I want.

When I started coaching, I was struggling with my confidence levels in my new working environment. I couldnt take criticism, needed to ask several people to make a decision, and was generally in a state of unrest. Coaching taught me how to catch myself and take control of my thoughts and feelings when I find myself moving toward unrest. Having somebody who I knew was assisting me and not judging me helped me put things in perspective and gain personal confidence, which helped me learn more skills professionally. Im more focused now on how I see myself than how others see me: I dont need to prove myself as a person and I am committed to protecting my peace.

Kara created a space non-intrusively and non-judgementally to explore why I was not happy with my work/life balance. I learned how to create clear boundaries, and how to say no to projects that are not for me. At the same time, Ive grown closer to my family as I acknowledge the richness in me, in them, and trust in my kids capabilities. An unexpected result of working with Kara has been that I now trust myself enough to bring my entrepreneurship project to a new level, which is helping me bring even more balance to my life.

When I started coaching, I had just spent the past two years completely isolated because of chronic health issues. As my health improved, I knew I wanted to take steps to get back out into the world, but I was overwhelmed. Having a weekly call dedicated to self-reflection in a safe space helped me address my fears in a healthier way. Now I trust that I can handle doing hard things I didnt think I could do before. I cook for myself, see friends, and have even started working again. Most importantly, Ive defined what success means for me and I know how to break down the steps to get there. --Ivy, English Tutor, California

I came to Kara at a midlife crossroads. After making it through the pandemic as a working mother of two children, I emerged into a changed world, needing change for myself, but terrified to take action. Coaching showed me how to accept myself as an immigrant and a queer woman: Im on a different road and have a different story and thats okay. Ive claimed my authentic adult female voice of power and Ive stopped apologizing for having opinions. With my new confidence to share my ideas publicly, it was easy to write the first draft of my new book. --Elise, Editor (Publishing), London

When I started coaching, I was in the middle of discovering and challenging myself. I was struggling with fear of missing out and having a hard time balancing my life when an interesting project caught my attention. As I started exploring my behaviors and patterns, I realized that I didnt need to try to do things the way others do. Now I see my patterns more clearly and I have a practice of letting things go if they dont serve my purpose. Thanks Kara for this amazing journey! :)

Working with Kara has been incredibly productive for me. I wanted to work with a coach to get through a major life transition -- changing jobs and moving to be closer to my family -- at a time when I felt stuck. Coaching helped me start to examine some of the assumptions that were holding me back and realize that I didn't have to stay in the mindset I'd been operating with for a long time. This allowed me to take the concrete steps I needed to make it through my move successfully, and develop skills that prepare me for other possible transitions in the future. Kara has been a supportive, intelligent and insightful guide throughout the whole process.

The best way I can describe where I was when I started with Kara is in a very big black pit: My mother died, my partner of 18 years had left me, I didnt have any direction in life and felt there was no point in planning for my future. I was extremely anxious and had trouble sleeping. Kara helped me see that I can track the thoughts that make me feel worthless and respond to them so that I could calm myself down. This was huge for me, because then I started feeling like I could change my situation. Knowing I had a gentle, non-judgmental space to take decisions by myself every week made a huge difference in how I kept trying and not giving up. Karas commitment and involvement, her knowledge, absolute lack of pressure, her ability to support and at the same time not to impose her ego played a tremendous role in my progress. Now I know that even if there is a setback, it doesnt mean Im a failure. Maria, English teacher, Czech Republic

When I began working with Kara, I was struggling to make order or discipline in the ways I was thinking about making decisions. When I approach decisions now, I look at them from a 360-degree perspective, really thinking it through and committing to following my intuition. Ive walked away from coaching with a document we created during my sessionsa toolbox of guidelines for myself to follow when I feel myself losing connection to my intuition, so I know I have my own back in the future.

When I started working with Kara, I was so much rushing and judging myself. Kara helped me to slow down, to know that its okay to focus on myself in a positive way. Coaching made me feel normal. I wanted to be a super mom or do things perfect and then I was so burned out. Now I do my tasks slowly. I made a small office in my home, I finished a Czech course. I even allow myself to rest. I allowed myself to enjoy my apartment, to take time on household chores. Now, I notice when I call myself lazy or not a good mom and talk back to that voice.
