About Me

My name is Jared Mackey, and I am the coach/owner of Rooted Life Coaching. I absolutely love what I do! Before starting Rooted Life Coaching, I was blessed to work for some fantastic mental health organizations for almost a decade. I worked as a behavioral health specialist and as well as an intensive home-based behavioral specialist. I am extensively trained through those positions to help children, teens, adults, and families through many sorts of behavioral/mental health categories. Some of the classes that I absolutely love working with are life goals, transition, developing life skills, improving relationships/communications, improving and developing roots when it comes to positive decision making, working through coping skills for anxiety|anger|grief.​

I have also grown a successful landscape company throughout 3 years in the Columbus, Ohio area. Business-wise I love developing businesses. Here are some businesses/events/organizations that I have helped create.

Integrity Lawn Service -Bartlesville, Oklahoma | I helped develop a landscape company when I was sixteen with my family. The company was very successful for almost 16 years before being sold and is still doing very well in the community with the new owners.

FREEfit - Lancaster, Ohio | I worked with some fantastic fitness professionals to develop a community-based fitness event for the community around and on since 2014.

Advanced Pest Solutions Inc - Oklahoma | I developed a business plan and helped design and still consult.

Zlaya Hardscapes: Pickerington, Ohio | I helped plan on the business identity and design what that digital footprint would look like for the company. Ever since this development, the business has increased sales throughout the past 5 years.

JM Lawns Pickerington, OH | This is my own lawn and landscape business that I designed and developed with extensive knowledge from my past experiences helping family, friends, and businesses. In the past 3 years, JM Lawns has increased sales and set a foundation within the community.

Rooted Coaching blends numerous types of services to help families, split-families, children, teens, college students in transition, new businesses, and people trying to juggle multiple roles in their life.

In my social work career, I had training that helps me be fully qualified in almost every facet of the mental health field. While at Directions for Youth in Families in Columbus, Ohio (where I worked for nearly 4.5 years), I had training monthly that covered the many facets of the world of mental health. My training focused on unique ways to help families, youth, children, poverty, grief, anxiety eating disorders, transitions to adulthood, school and community resource development, developing resiliency in parents|adults|children|teens, anger management, the effects of trauma, and many other subjects. While at Integrated Services in Behavioral Health, I worked for almost 2 years of my 4 years as an intensive home-based worker. At that position, I met with families that either lost their children or teetering on losing their children to the foster care system. The reasons why varied, but some were due to general family behaviors and the parents/teens/children themselves' behaviors. I worked to help improve the family unit's skills to improve communication, improve crisis management, mend poor relationships, improve overall decision-making skills, and many other things throughout a 6 to 10-month stint. My experiences had my work in the school system, juvenile court, counselors in the family's life, child protective workers, developmental disabilities caseworkers, and other community supports. This community support working together were helped families develop the resiliency to keep the family unit together. I would hold and steer community meetings with child protective agencies, developmental disabilities, juvenile court probation officers.
At Integrated Services as a behavioral health specialist, I was extensively trained on community collaboration, resiliency training, how to communicate with others helps in people's lives, and was trained again in the subject areas from before at Directions for Youth Families.

Since starting up my life coaching practice, I have helped numerous families, goal setting for college students, improve business goals for a few individuals, and general use my past experiences and training to help better the people's lives that I am connected with their coach.
