About Me
Starting in 2006, I started running due to a recommendation from a former gym teacher and track coach who was one of the first people I felt actually cared about my journey. He never gave up on me and told me “Jared, you have potential, do not waste it.” That statement changed my life.
When I first started running, I was not even able to finish 3km without collapsing. But I didn’t give up because I wanted to make my coach and other gym teachers proud.
A positive coach or environment can completely change your life. I went from not believing in myself due to all the teasing to falling in love with running because someone believed in me. The right mentor who never gives up on you can unleash your empowerment & running potential to new heights.
About 3 years later, I completed my first marathon at 20 years-old in the Ottawa Race Weekend. It changed my life and perspective on running. I knew with the right direction and determination, you can achieve great things.
I have continued racing and competing and eventually earned my way up to be carded as a visually impaired runner for 3 years from 2013-2015. I am visually impaired (legally blind) and a former carded para-athletics athlete.
I love giving back to the running community and am still on the journey with you to see how fast I can go in the longer distances.
I know how it feels to struggle with finding the right support. I’ve spent several years trying different coaches but kept having sub-par performances. The problem: The programs were not customized enough. I felt like I had to constantly nudge for more feedback and reassurance that I was on the right track.
I have Fitness & Health Promotion in 2010-2013, I also learned the power of time management skills. You can accomplish a lot when you maximize your schedule in a way that energizes instead of depletes you.
My coaching philosophy is that EVERY structured running program must be tailored to the individual with no exceptions.

I've had a great experience with Jared. I was looking to get back to training more consistently after a few years of casual running. Jared tailored a training plan for my specific goal-running a 1:45 half marathon. He adapted the plan to my work schedule and wish to do a mix of solo workouts and runs with local groups (CRC and Vanier Running group). I have valued the in person meetings to run or work out with me and the regular detailed feedback. Highly recommend
