About Me

Hello! I'm Heather.

I became certified as a Parent, Teen & Child Life Coach in 2021 after recognizing, in the midst of the pandemic, that the most impactful approach to supporting children and teens is through fostering collaboration and engagement with their parents.

In my experience, mental health resources for children and teens are often limited, with many providers fully booked and lengthy waitlists. Moreover, I’ve noticed a significant lack of support specifically for parents. I am committed to addressing this gap because I believe that when children and teens feel supported and connected to their parents, they are better equipped to handle life’s inevitable stresses and challenges.

I have over 30 years of experience working directly with children, teens and parents in various roles, including nurse, ESL teacher, preschool teacher, youth counselor, and, for the past decade, teacher assistant and substitute teacher in the public schools. I've seen the pace of life accelerate at an alarming rate, leaving teachers, parents, and children struggling to keep up with constant changes and rising expectations. This has led to increased anxiety and a decline in mental health across the board.

During my own quest for support as a parent, I discovered life coaching, which has been incredibly beneficial in alleviating my own anxiety and stress. It has also helped me become a more effective parent and advocate for the family. This has inspired me to support other parents and children as well.

Children and teens are my very favorite people to be around, and my ultimate goal is to support them in every way possible. They have sparked my motivation to embark on this journey.

My husband and I have four amazing children, and I consider motherhood to be the most important role in my life.
