I've been meeting with Evan every 2 or 3 weeks now for over a year. If you're in engineering leadership and looking for a coach, I cannot recommend Evan enough. I've recommended him to multiple colleagues, and I've said a couple of times now, that meeting with Evan has been the best thing that's happened to me in the past year. I was initially connected through the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute, along with a couple of my other engineering manager colleagues, each of us to a different coach. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been paired up with Evan. Immediately he was able to talk with me through different lines of thoughts and concerns I had about work, and then cut deep into insights and conclusions. I've found that pattern continue to repeat itself every time I get to talk with Evan. He's great at listening, asking insightful questions, and always helping me coalesce my thinking around something I've been concerned about. Sometimes it's drawing on his own experience as a CEO to give me a direction to think through; sometimes it's just asking leading questions until I am able to talk through my own conclusions. I very much appreciate that every time, we always come up with a couple of actual action items and things to work on or think about. Evan also maintains a good flow to the session, always making sure that we make time for the specific concerns I initially came in with. Though, we often get sidetracked on very useful tangents, and that's also part of why our conversations are so great. Evan has also been a strong source of affirmation for me. This past year has been one of a lot of turmoil and change, and sometimes the answer to my concerns from him have just been, yes you are thinking about this the right way, or yes you are deserving of this title, and that's something that I just really appreciate from Evan.
