Are you living your dream, or someone else's?
I totally get it, because I was there, too!
For many years, I thought I was living the dream: working as a professional costume designer for theatre. I got to travel for work, make art everyday, and collaborate with all different kinds of people. I even met my husband (after a tragic ghosting incident) at an opening night party! From the outside, everything looked amazing! Enviable, even.
But, honestly... I was kind of bored! I started taking on more and more work, I had porous spiritual boundaries and a massive fear of disappointing others. I told myself "Just get through this, then you'll:
-make more money
-get your big break
-be happy
-etc etc, rinse, repeat"
In 2018, I worked on 25 shows AND got married. Though it wasn't all bad, I knew I couldn't nurture my marriage and keep the breakneck schedule I had been operating on. My priorities also started to shift: I wanted to go on vacation! I wanted to have a life that didn't revolve around constantly producing. I wanted to be able to rest, be silly, and maybe even develop a hobby!
I landed a full time teaching job and thought, "Ah-ha! Figured it out! This will do the trick."
Then the pandemic hit!

I began seeking out coaching for burn out, and then spiritual fitness. I made time for mindfulness, and space to let my higher self lead me. It created so much more space for me to lead from a place of honesty and authenticity, instead of fighting myself to fit into a box.
