About Me

The first time I had been to Santa Barbara was when I moved here in 1995. Unsure of what I wanted to do (reoccurring theme) after a disappointing JC baseball career, I followed some friends I had met during that time to finish up school. From what I had heard, Santa Barbara sounded completely different than any other place I had lived so far - I fell in love the moment we drove into IV. After graduating from UCSB with a Psychology degree, I had no idea what I wanted to do next.

I stumbled into a job with a local staffing company that was enjoying aggressive growth and provided opportunities. Fast forward 22 years, same company, as a VP, a marriage, buying a house, a divorce...ending up in a familiar place, "I had no idea what I wanted to do next." That's when I started to own the responsibility for my choices in my career, relationships, communication, and all aspects of my life. I KNEW I could not repeat the cycle for another 22 years...I stopped listening to that inner critic that tells us we are not good, worthy, or smart enough to [ ]. I started listening to that voice that had always wanted to start a business, write a book, hike glaciers, do something that pushed me, scared me! Mindfulness Coaching is something I am passionate about and Carpe DM is proof that it works.
