About Me

I am the mother of a very spirited, strong-willed, and sweet toddler who has turned my world backward and forward, upside down and back up again. Me, my little boy, and my husband, make up my little family of three!

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology, but I ended up building a successful, 12-year career in clinical research. After finishing up my master's, I had no idea what population I wanted to work with — I wasn't passionate about any particular demographic or disorder. I was so discouraged, feeling like I went back to school for nothing.

After having my son, I was so happy, but the postpartum period was really, really hard. There was so much advice, but I found it all to be the same and not particularly helpful — it just didn't apply to me. Surely, there had to be other new moms who were feeling the same way I was.

And then, during one of those wonderful, quiet showers that seem to allude new mothers, it hit me like a train: I wanted to work with new moms. I felt it so deeply. I am not a religious or spiritual person, but something in my universe aligned: I knew what it was that I was meant to do.

A career that I built for over a decade wasn't easy to walk away from, but I was spending time away from my family in a job that was making me miserable — preventing me from being the mom and wife that I wanted to be. Also, when you discover something you're passionate about, it's really hard to keep doing the wrong thing.
