About Me

Since I was a kid, I loved hearing people tell stories about their lives. As a coach now, I listen to stories with more intentionality...I listen for what their beliefs are that are helpful, and which beliefs they hold about themselves that are limiting to their growth and obstacles to their goals. Professionally, I buy into the theory that its not your circumstances that defeat you, its what you believe about your circumstances that defeats you. We all come up in the world and create stories or beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world that help us make sense of what is happening and why. These beliefs are helpful to a point, and then they can become limiting.
I see my job as a coach to first clearly understand the specific goal of the coaching process. Then, I listen to clients' stories, tuning into both the helpful and the limiting beliefs they hold. I then help clients identify the strengths of their character that are going to help them overcome the obstacles (this is the know-yourself part of the process). I help clients be boldly honest with themselves in acknowleging their typical pitfalls (this is the know-your-enemy part of the process), and how to create new behaviors as well as new thoughts that are going to allow them to overcome the pitfalls.
As a coach, I uncover and leverage the strengths of the client, while being unafraid to confront problems. Personally, I have held a consistent answer to the age old question, "Would you rather hear an uncomfortable truth or a comfortable lie?" I'm happy to be able to lean into this innate need for authenticity and honesty into my work. If you meet me, you will notice two things pretty quickly: 1, I'm an intense guy. I am deeply passionate about the work I do and in getting clients across the finish line. 2, I'm approachable. Clients demonstrate a willingness to be open and vulnerable with me, I believe, because they sense my genuine caring of them.
