About Me

I don't have the profile of a typical career coach--I once worked on Wall Street, did corporate strategy for Burger King, and also did business strategy consulting at Bain and Company before getting my PhD at Berkeley to become a business school professor. I've been a professor for over ten years now, and previously taught at Ivey Business School in Canada, Wharton, and NYU.

Despite everything I've just written above, if you want to follow a typical "success track" in your chosen field and need help, I am the wrong person for you. I've been part of the system long enough to know that none of those tracks were designed for you to be happy. Instead, what I do is help others discover what they were meant to do. I feel so strongly about this I wrote a book about it (Evolution to Purpose: Choosing a Life of Authenticity with Work).

Because everyone's situation is unique, I will work to understand your specific circumstances and tell you what I see. Sometimes that means I'll show you a mirror so you can see that you've been ignoring your emotions, which has led you astray. Other times, I might tell you that your first business idea has much more potential than your second one because it can be scaled much more easily. Whatever we talk about, I will share what I see, using the many hats I have collected.
