Brandy is absolutely brilliant. I explained my concerns and fears I had for my son being labeled a troubled student. In order to see first-hand if my son exhibited the attention deficit issues the school suggested he had she introduced him to a highly complicated card game. I had a hard time following the rules but he was able to keep up and even won a few rounds. She explained the games was simply to see if he showed what she suspected when she met him; he isn't challenged in school. I presented this to the school and now he takes Advanced English and Math. On the 23rd we will celebrate him being on the Honor Roll for the 1st time this school year. She spent 3hours with my little family of three making sure any concerns or questions we had were addressed. We discussed food alternatives to help with my sleeping, 30 mins exercise routines so I'm not so overwhelmed then quit, better ways to listen to my son and neice when they need to vent about their day...just an all around self care process that left me feeling renewed and strengthened. I absolutely love that woman. If she ever writes a book I might have to super glue it to Michele Obama's Becoming. Yeah she's on THAT LEVEL for me and my family.
