About Me
I believe that everyone has a unique story that deserves to be explored in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment. The mission at Fire Poppy Coaching is to help individuals navigate their stories of pain and trauma to find healing, growth, and transformation.
My passion for story work grew over the years as I engaged in my own healing journey. This work eventually led me to pursue a life of deeper purpose. I am passionate about helping people restore their sense of self and find true healing. I create and hold a compassionate, safe space for clients to explore and learn from their formative stories.
I have completed training in the following modules:
Narrative-Focused Trauma Care Level I and II
Trauma-Focused Narrative Group Training
Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies Levels I, II, and III
Liminal Guide Certification
Unwanted Guide Certification
I also hold an MBA from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University.

As the proud father to three grown children; Parker, Mikayla, and Alex, I bring a parent's heart to my work. I personally understand the importance of approaching formative stories with both compassion and curiosity.
I have a deep appreciation for the outdoors and nature's majestic beauty. I experience joy while hiking, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, or a simple walk. I enjoy the mountains of Buena Vista, Colorado and the glacial hills of Wisconsin. I find solace in the fresh mountain air, surrounded by nature's stunning landscape.
In addition to a love for nature, I adore my yellow lab, Aspen. At my side during outdoor adventures, Aspen is also found at my feet during client sessions.

Bary's insight and guidance is delivered in a very kind and thoughtful manner. While willing to be direct and honest in his feedback, it is delivered in a kind and courteous manner which continues to make me feel "safe." More often than not, he has simply asked me thought provoking questions that bring about change from within. I'd recommend him highly to any of my friends or associates.

Barry played a very critical role in my life for many years. He was a mentor of mine during a time when I struggled to really discover who I was.
