About Me

I have enjoyed decades of sharing knowledge and teaching as a broadcast journalist, teacher, and organization leader. I also worked in advertising and public relations (in-house and my own agency) so understand that business and organizations are as diverse as the owners, employees and customers they serve. My training as an actor has also helped me in understanding the nuances of effective communication.

I have noticed that communication and critical thinking tools (or lack of!) is a crucial part of succeeding in business (or any public or private organization). This includes interviewing processes, meetings, crisis management and team work. As a college communications instructor I have been privileged to help people from all over the world overcome their fears and reach their potential. While being an excellent public speaker in person or other channels is important, being a good listener is crucial, and not easy!

I will offer services in public speaking, using PowerPoint (or not), group and interpersonal communication, conflict and crisis resolution, and learning to speak in front of a camera. I can also offer ideas in improving leadership and actually applying critical thinking (not just lip service). I offer Interactive seminars and workshops and individual coaching. I will also share what I have learned about developing an effective social media presence. In person or teleconference available.

My training in journalism helped me learn the importance of asking the right questions and being a good listener, which will help me engage with you and learn your needs. As an instructor I have witnessed the rise of texting and online communication and the need to understand diverse communication styles. As an actor, I have the tools to share (improv anyone?) that will make my services effective, engaging and fun.
