About Me
A business can look successful from the outside & still feel frustrating to own. As owners, we can carry too much of the workload, tolerate inconsistent employee performance, and work harder than we should for the profit we're creating.
I started my first business in college to help pay for school. After college, I spent 14 years owning and operating a seven-figure business with 25 employees. I dealt with payroll, hiring, turnover, pricing, difficult employees, thin margins, demanding customers, and the constant temptation to just do everything myself. Eventually, I built the systems and team that allowed the business to operate & grow without depending on me.
When it was acquired, the business was roughly four times as profitable as the industry and was growing about eight times faster than our competition.
I believe every small business should create three things:
People: Employees who know what’s expected, understand how they’re performing, take ownership of results, and make good decisions.
Profit: Healthy margins, smart pricing, productive employees, and a business model that rewards the owner for the risk of ownership.
Purpose: A business that creates something worthwhile for the owner, employees, clients, families, and communities it touches.
This isn’t theory. I’ve helped a professional-service firm increase employee realization from roughly 70% to 100%. Another owner changed how his workforce was structured and approximately doubled profitability.
My approach is practical and hands-on. We work on the actual business together—improving people, profit, systems, leadership, and the decisions that move the company forward.
I’m also a speaker on leadership, employee performance, and building businesses that benefit everyone they touch.
I believe a successful business should do more than make money. It should reward the owner, create meaningful opportunities for employees, serve clients exceptionally well, and have a positive impact beyond itself.
