What do you want to achieve in the next year by hiring a coach?
I want to have gotten a good testing score for getting into law school, networked with health policy experts, and gotten work in an at least adjacent field while living in a new city.
Tell us about yourself.
I'm a recent grad from the University of Washington who had planned to leverage a campaign position in northeast Pennsylvania to get to The Hill, but Democrats had a crushing loss so all my connections will take time to be valuable now. I studied Law, Societies, and Justice, International Studies with a focus in Latin America, and minored in Bioethics. My ultimate goal is to work in international health policy (quite the tall order I know) and currently plan to go to law school to prepare myself as well as gain work experience and earn a master's certificate in health policy this summer. I'm currently in my home state of Ohio but being here for a multitude of reasons, is horrible for my mental state and moving forward, so I'm doing what I can to get out of the situation but seeing as I aim to work in the government I'm not making a ton of progress right now. I have tentative plans to get cheap housing in Chicago and start working as a Barista, but I need advice on how to best sell myself. I'm sure this isn't uncommon, but I've always been told I'm different in a way that's difficult to name. People have pulled my mother aside to inform her, I've been told teachers 'haven't known what to do with me', and my peers and I just have never cared about the same things. No one has been able to help place what this difference is, and I'd like to find a way to utilize this difference to set myself apart professionally. This is kind of an ambiguous note, but I wanted to note it all the same. I struggle with feeling confident networking. Currently my big plan is to read the academic papers of professors in the field I want to work and reach out as a fan, but it's not practical to do such in depth research every time, and casual networking events are things I should be able to take advantage of too. Finally, I'm more exploring my options for how best to attack my next steps and would like to see what Noomi has to offer, so thank you for reading my likely too lengthy bio, and I look forward to hearing from you all!
