What do you want to achieve in the next year by hiring a coach?
Build an effective, highly regarded centralized Analytics organization for a $4B multi-brand franchise in the fitness industry. With a coach I am hoping to (1) advance my leadership skills in building effective relationships with the executive team and my peers across the organization, (2) effectively lead and build a strong team of leaders in my organization whom I can rely on and feel comfortable delegating to, (3) develop broad buy-in among peers and executives for a departmental vision and gameplan, (4) expertly navigate the prioritization process as a service provider to several brands and regions.
Tell us about yourself.
I have a 20-year international career as a leader in large (HP) and mid-size organizations. I've always sought new challenges, which has exposed me to different functions in an organization, such as Finance, Sales, Analytics and Technology. I've run small teams (up to 15) in each of those areas as well worked as a Global Program Manager on strategic programs in an IC role. I've also worked as freelance consultant for about 10 years recently, before deciding 2+ years ago to join Orangetheory (fitness company, $1.3b in revenue) as their SVP of Analytics. Here, my team is small enough (10 people) that I can engage at a fairly granular level, which I like. The organization is still founder led, with a strong focus on the product, i.e. the members' fitness experience, and the success of the franchisee network. As part of a recent merger with Self Esteem Brands, I was now asked to lead Analytics for the new, merged company. This requires "upgrading" my leadership style to delegate more, build relationships across many more executives and brands, spend more time on selling the vision and building a well-oiled analytics machine, and managing up to a more professionalized executive team (as opposed to founders). My team will be at least twice the size than it is today. I am looking forward to this challenge and to establish myself as a well respected senior executive at the newly merged company.
