In the past week, we have been contacted by at least three coaches who got a curious email from someone at MajorMediaNow.com. The email they are getting looks like this:
If you’ve received one of these message you might be wondering a) how they got your contact information, b) if it’s a scam or c) if they are affiliated with us. Here’s what we have to say about that:
- We did not give away or sell your contact information. If you received one of these emails, they would have found your email address through a clever Internet search.ÂÂ
- We do not know if the service MajorMediaNow offers is credible. Please proceed with caution.
- Noomii is NOT affiliated with MajorMediaNow. They are clearly using the Noomii name to get your attention but it is without our permission and against our terms of service. We have asked them to stop and will pursue legal action if it persists.ÂÂ
If you have received one of these emails, please let us know in the comments below.
Proceed with caution.
UPDATE Mar 19, 2015
MajorMediaNow responded to my email and has agreed to stop sending emails. If the problem persists, please forward emails to support@noomii.com.ÂÂ
Thanks,
Stephan Wiedner and the Noomii Team
I got one. According to WhoIs, the domain was registered just last month. Not much else came from the Google Search, so it’s a major red flag. I ignored it as spam.
I received the same e-mail from MajorMediaNow. Not happy about the spam.
Got one too! Didn’t reply. I have gotten a few calls and different businesses contacting me since on Noomii.
Hi Sonia,
Thanks for letting us know. Unfortunately, there are always going to be telemarketers who take advantage of sites like Noomii. If you publish your business phone number on the Internet, you’re going to get calls from people who want to sell you stuff. That’s one of the reasons that it’s so important to get a dedicated work phone line.
I received one as well. Ignored it. Sounded very fishy and not very legitimate.
Majormedianow.com is run by a convicted scam artist named Mike Cioppa out of Albany NY. He is using the alias Mike Carano but has also gone by Mike Cardinelli most recently, Mike Brandino, and Dr. Mike Cioppa. His most known scams were MagicMikeIM.com & IMGuerillas.com where he duped alot of people internationally then disappeared to reinvent himself. Doing a quick google search for Mike Cioppa Albany will tell a more accurate story of this career criminal. He has done prison time for this illegal behavior.
I caution ANYONE who receives an email with a link from this person NOT to click on it. He infects your contact list which is most likely how he got access to the members on this website.
This group seemed to be keeping tabs on him but have not posted anything about MajorMediaNow.com
