“It’s the End of the World as We Know It  (And I Feel Fine)” ~ R.E.M.
No matter where you were at the end of this year, ‘betcha didn’t escape the chatter and noise about the END OF THE WORLD (!) according to the Mayan calendar. A national radio station asked the question, “If you knew the world was going to end, what would you do?†Spend time with family. Take THAT trip. Eat delicious cheese.
There is something profoundly sad, a thinness of living, that came through in these answers. The question dipped into people’s value sets and came out with what they would do facing the end of their life: eat delicious cheese.
Call to ACTION: in 2013, EAT THE GREAT CHEESE. Then go to the gym.
Interested in rocking out in your full glory in the new year? In sinking into what really matters and bringing more of what you desire into this year?
The Annual Review: Directly from the brain of Chris Guillebeau, writer, community builder, traveller and non-conformist, this template for reflection and intention setting is the most powerful thing you can do for yourself this year.
1. Two Questions for the Current Year:
- What went well this year?
- What did not go well this year?
Come up with a half dozen or so answers. List things that you could have impacted: if events happened that were out of your control, they do not need to go on this list.ÂÂ
2. Goals and Focus for Next Year:
List YOUR life categories, for example: health, financial, relationships.
- Which areas will you focus on this year?
- What goals do you want to achieve for each area?
- From these goals, choose a theme for the new year. (Via Danielle LaPorte)
3. Decide and Support those Goals and Focus:
- Each goal: dig deep. How will you do it? How does it feel? Does it feel “right What does it look like?
- Reinforcement. What support can you rely on for each goal? What support do you need?
- Metrics. How will you know when you have achieved your goal? What does success look like? How will you gauge your movement?
- MOVE: What actions will  you take, starting with step ONE, on each goal?
For 2013, choose a year of epicness. Choose to see what you really want from your life and live it. Choose to think there will be a Zombie Apocalypse if that is what you need to get moving.
Choose to see that your days are not without limit and live now.
Wishing you an epic 2013.
