An effective and engaging executive coaching experience will bring the following benefits to the client:
1. Focused – the entire coaching relationship is focused on the client and his/her goals and priorities. The spotlight will be on results, not extraneous issues.
2. Goal Directed – the coaching relationship is not a therapy session. The past is only spoken of in its relationship to the client’s future goals. The focus is on where the client wants to go not where they have been in the past!
3. Revelatory – the purpose of engaging an executive coach is not to create potential. In fact, the client possesses all the potential he/she needs. The purpose of the coaching is to uncover the client’s deepest desires, identify strengths and unmask constraints that are holding the client back.
4. Empowering – the coaching relationship is a great place to mentally expand. Safety and trust must be established so creativity is unleashed, possibilities are discovered, and momentum is generated to achieve improved results. The coach is not there to be seen as an expert, but rather to empower, not impress.
5. Authentic – the coach is there to unselfishly and in a transparent manner, offer you the benefits of their life experiences, personal style, and intuitive sense. It is a relationship that allows the coach to share in a genuine and true manner.
6. Holistic – the approach used will impact both the professional and personal life of the client. Success and satisfaction take place when personal and professional lives are balanced and in harmony. People are different and each person will experience this in their own unique way.
7. Responsive – the coaching relationship is not about providing advice. Rather, it is all about listening and responding. The client is not someone who needs to be fixed. Coaching is focused on assisting the client to unlock their full potential and fulfill their purpose in a meaningful and enriching manner.
8. Synergistic – The synergistic relationship of coach and client allows for results that could not be obtained by trying to work on these things alone. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts in an effective coaching relationship.
9. Experiential – Creative energy is released during the coaching relationship with transformational results. The pace may start out very slow or measured, but soon results are reflected. These results are lasting because they are created based upon a strong rock-like foundation.
10. Transformational – coaching will not only help a client solve problems and achieve goals, but it will transform the way in which the client solves them. An improved quality of life results, which allows the client to control the way in which he/she chooses to live.
