Top 7 Digital Marketing Rules to Follow

November 14, 2017 by Kristen Moran

There was a time, not so long ago, when all you had to do to create a successful online business and start earning money on the internet was create an attractive website, have several landing pages, a subscription database, a decent advertising campaign and an SEO specialist on your team.

However, with new online marketing laws the situation of the online market has changed dramatically; your advertising campaign can cause your budget to crumble, one wrong decision or series of events and your base of subscribers will die out.

Meanwhile, new digital channels of communication have appeared with a wide range of opportunities for any taste. Of course, the main aim of every company is to get as much attention as possible, but because of constant changes in social media and search engine algorithms the means of reaching the right audience continue to develop and change. The most powerful tool for this is a good online marketing campaign.

If you are unsure of how to distinguish good internet marketing strategies from the bad ones, we’ve got some basic rules of marketing that will help:

1. Learn first, then get inspired

All successful internet marketing strategies begin with a close scrutiny of your target client - their needs, preferences and wishes are crucial for the development of your coaching brand. You have to develop your own complex approach to promote the coaching products and services you are offering by paying attention to both offline customers as well as the online buyers. Digital technologies make it possible to identify opportunities for adaptation, analyze the trade-offs and then adapt faster and more efficiently. By introducing the ability to continuously sense internal operations and external market conditions and to be able to analyze these variations quickly, digital capabilities allow intelligent processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

2. Repurpose your content

It’s silly to think that posting a video on YouTube or advertising on other websites will be enough to become a well-known brand and stay on the first page of Google. You have to use the variety of digital platforms available now to communicate with your clients, subconsciously transforming them into your potential future clients. Even if millions of people are owners of the same type of digital device, you must still interact with each of them as a single person. Moreover, each user will interact with you as an individual, demonstrating his specific user habits and preferences, so you should develop your own creative component, which will facilitate the emergence of feedback from customers and their participation in marketing activities.

3. Initiate talk around you

What can be better than creating a community around you that is interested in your products. According to the statistics, very few brands have a wide community on different social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. This is a very sad fact because they are very useful free platforms to become friends with your clients and attract the new ones. Humans are hardwired to connect to each other, so it’s not a surprise that when offered the chance, clients will readily to share their views and desires with a brand. Those who are just beginning to implement digital marketing technologies are often surprised at how powerful the response from consumers can be. That’s why it’s important that you manage the flow of feedback from your clients and use the data to help you further develop your brand and your relationship to your target audience.

4. Tell a good story

Your brand is a story and you should do your best to tell this story in such an interesting manner to intrigue deeply your customers and make them keep coming to you again and again. Instead of just trying to blatantly sell your coaching packages and products, connect with them on a person level through your own story and offer solutions for their problems by relating to their pains. Share something that shows your potential clients that your services real value. If you have succeeded in evoking the right emotions through your words and capture your audience through your message, then they will transform from an emotionally involved reader to a grateful client
