Top 15 Coach Marketing Insights from 2015
This year was a big year for Noomii. We deployed a couple major initiatives to deliver more value to our members, we started this blog, and we hosted a number of high quality teleclasses. In so doing, we learned quite a few things. Here are the top 15 marketing insights from 2015.
15. Coaches want and need coaching too
This year we launched the Noomii Coaching Circle and we’ve been getting great feedback. Who knew!? Coaches want and need coaching too. Now there is an ultra affordable way to do that. Check out the Coaching Circle.
14. Get your foot-in-the-door with something like the Noomii Wheel of Life
Having something fun and easy to do is a great way to get people started down the path of coaching. Did you know that we created a simple online version of the Wheel of Life. Check it out and get your friends to fill it out too. You might get clients out of it.
13. Getting face-to-face with a prospect is gold
One of the rarest resources these days is a prospective client’s attention. There is so much noise out there and a great way to cut through that noise is to meet people face-to-face at tradeshow conferences. Learn how to get clients at tradeshow conferences.
12. Social proof in the form of testimonials can dramatically boost your business
In this teleclass with Dawn Camacho, she teaches us how powerful Yelp reviews can be and how to go about getting more of them (among other valuable, actionable lessons).
11. The ultimate long-term business strategy is to build something bigger than yourself
Louisa Jewell no longer has to do much marketing for her coaching and consulting services. Clients come to her because she founded the Canadian Positive Psychology Association (CPPA). What can you build that will take on a life of its own and serve your ideal clients at the same time? Get inspired by listening to this interview with Louisa Jewell, founder and President of the CPPA.
10. Coaching 50 of your friends and family is a huge momentum booster
This year we rolled out Coach Marketing Bootcamp: the Ultimate Business Building Program for Coaches and in the program, we encourage coaches, especially new coaches, to get out there and offer free sample sessions to 50 of their friends and family. Coaches are telling us that it’s a huge momentum booster. They love it!
9. The most successful coaches embody what coaching is all about
Coaching is all about blue sky visioning, ambitious goal setting, values-based decision making, solution-focused thinking, and in general, helping people live extraordinary lives. The most successful coaches lead by example and uncover their own awesomeness. What’s your awesome? Check out my teleclass with Emma-Louise Elsey to find out.
8. Even if you are building an empire, you need to start with the right foundation
If you want to build a coaching empire, you need to have a foundation that can support the growth you want. Listen to this call with young, dynamic, award winning, TEDx speaker Yasmine Khater.
7. Speed matters when responding to leads
In this post, I share an example of two coaches who DID NOT get hired because they waited two days to respond to a client lead. The coach that called the client right away got hired. Check out this little email hack to respond to leads more quickly.
6. A little persistence goes a long way to secure clients that are on the fence
Searching for a coach is similar to buying a membership at a gym. Client’s good intentions don’t always produce results. But if you take a stand for accountability and persistence and actively follow-up with warm leads, they can produce hot results. Learn how to follow up with prospects.
5. Mastering the money conversation is all about framing
The best coaches secure three to four times more paying clients with the same number of leads as an average coach. In Module 3 of Coach Marketing Bootcamp, we share the detailed steps for having a powerful money conversation.
4. The best way to sell coaching is to give people the experience of coaching
When you wake up in the morning and hear a drip under the sink, who do you call? Yes, a plumber. When you wake up and dread going to work again, who do you call? Your friend, your mom, nobody? Unlike calling a plumber when there’s a leak, few people think of hiring a coach when they have a “leak” in their life. Learn more about why coaching is not like plumbing.
3. The 7 Habits of 6-Figure Coaches is a catchy title
After interviewing the most successful coaches in our network and devouring books on the topic of business building, Noomii CEO Kurt Shuster created a teleclass called the 7 Habits of 6-Figure Coaches. If you are part of a group of coaches and want Kurt to deliver his talk to you, let us know by emailing support@noomii.com. In the meantime, check out this blog post about having the right business mindset.
2. “People don’t buy products; they buy better versions of themselves” *
If coaching is a boat that takes your clients to paradise island, they don’t much care about the boat. They care about the destination so describe it for them. Learn this and other copywriting skills to inspire your ideal clients to pick up the phone and call you for coaching. Check out Noomii’s PRISM system for identifying the 5 key elements of a powerful marketing message.
1. It’s better to foster meaningful relationships with 35 people than to have a list of 350
We hosted an awesome teleclass with Deanna Brown from Refer.com, an online service helping coaches and other independent professionals build their businesses with the power of referral marketing. Did you know that you can expect 1 to 5 new clients each month by building powerful relationships with only 35 people. That’s crazy. Crazy awesome. Check out the teleclass to learn how to leverage the immense power of referrals.
Here’s looking towards a prosperous 2016!
