How Do You Know If You Are The Right Fit For A Potential Client?

As a coach I can assume that you probably want to help everyone, right? But the reality is that as much as we might want that, it’s just not possible to help everyone.
If you are relatively new to Noomii, you may be wondering this same thing. Noomii gets requests from people all over the world with a wide range of issues, challenges and needs. You probably have so much experience and so much knowledge about so many different areas, so naturally, it can be tough to hone in on a specific niche when you are just getting started as a coach.
In this post, I am going to offer up a simple way to figure out if you are the right fit for potential coaching clients.
How do you know which potential client you could serve the best?
I use this one simple trick that helps me to know very quickly if I am the right coach for a particular client or not. First, I read their client lead in the daily summary that I get through Noomii. Then, I imagine myself being on the phone with the person as I am reading the description of their challenges. I imagine what I would say to them and how I would navigate that first conversation.
Even though I want to help everyone as you probably do, there are many times when I use this process and I find myself at a loss for what I would say or how I would help them. That is when I know that I am not the best fit for that particular client.
There are other times, however, when I know exactly what I would say to them and how I would help them with their challenges. That is when I know that I am the ideal coach for that client and I can recommend myself as a coach for him or her with confidence.
An illustration
Just last week I used this process on the daily summary one day. As I read one client’s description, it felt like I was reading the story from 80% of my clients and I could easily imagine the conversation going on in my mind. I recommended myself, had the call with the client a few days later and it went just about as I envisioned in my mind.
This process really helps you to access your intuition to allow it to guide you in the best way for you and all of Noomii’s client leads.
What strategies have you used to match yourself with your ideal client?
